Flashes ~ Kethik Ul’Zerth
The flashes of this chapter have been lost and will be replaced when available.
The following takes place in 2023 CE.
The party arrived at Central City, Arcadia to find that much of the security had lightened up after Mordrin’s execution. Kethik was confident that meeting with NOVA members would not be difficult. The first order of business, however, was to find the Feywild, as Cyrus had instructed.
The Feywild, revealed to be a somewhat low-class night club featuring exotic dancers, was a useful place for the party to relax and become acquainted with one another, and for the sharing of details about each other’s native time periods.
One of the dancers called to stage turned out to be Rose, under the name “Grace.” Kethik confirmed she was a member of the resistance and, while not technically a member of NOVA, was a sympathizer and rumoured to be involved in its origin. He and Aiden were not, however, aware of her status as an Angel. Furthermore, the entire party was shocked when Rose’s first reaction to seeing them was to leap from the stage and passionately kiss Michael.
Rose’s attitude was significantly different, given her logically extensive life since the party had last seen her. She had lived out the 576 years in standard time and was considerably more knowledgable of events than any member of the party.
This reunion did not last long, as Rose quickly realized that while security was lessened on the streets, observation of the Layer had been significantly increased, and that the device used by Kethik to access the Layer had likely been hacked by Wesley Kennedy after their battle. She brought them all outside and provided them with transport, only to be promptly ambushed by a formidable man dressed in a highly advanced military-grade flux armor (which appeared similar to leather clothing to the party members from the 15th century). Rose identified him as Grave, an angel in alliance with the Arcadian state. The party fled using vehicles summoned by Rose from a personal layer terminal.
Arriving at NOVA’s designated rendezvous point, the party was introduced to the other key members of NOVA, consisting of Caitlin Rodgers, an former state diplomat, and Joseph Kalan, a notorious hacker and scientist. This meeting proved beneficial for the members of the party, as Joseph was able to analyze the flux incorporated into their time-traveled bodies. He determined that the flux was of a kind similar to that produced by Divine entities such as angels and demons, and that both Aiden and Kethik were also saturated with it. He estimated that the power that caused them to shift position in time was fluctuating, and would continue to carry them through time intermittently.
Not long after this realization, state agents arrived at the rendezvous point, having tracked the party. Though preparations were made to withstand them, the party unexpectedly shifted through time before the battle began, leaving Rose, Caitlin, and Joseph behind as the world began to fade into white.
